Jerry and I added the images of all the pages relating to serial numbers and they can be retrieved and viewed with the new application. The basic application is complete at this time, but may still need some debugging. and a site that many felt was easier to use was produced by them. Shortly after the first effort was complete the data was copied with permission by the Swiss Waltham Watch Co. To the best of my knowledge allows free copying of information and designs for not-for-profit use, just like we do. I do not think ownership is a matter of discussion for this forum. I will be happy to answer questions and take suggestions on usability or completeness of the effort and will continue to develop it as I become more familiar with the tools. I am doing all the programming on the replacement and do not feel the need for instructions from those who did not participate in the first round of work. The people who did the original work as volunteers agreed that the work would be public. You get two shots at each number since they are consistently one apart for the last of one page and the first of the next.Ĭlick to expand.I do not know what answers you expect. When I have the files with index names, it is easy to generate the database entries from those directory names and incorporate them into the application. What is involved is receiving a set of page images and generating new names for each of them of the form 1p#n#_#.pdf Where the hash marks stand for the page number with leading zeros if needed and the first and last serial numbers shown on the page.Ĭurrently I have done 116 (the first 110 and the last 6) pages from Book 1, 63 pages from book 2 and 62 pages (about half) from the gray book. If anyone wants to participate in the indexing activity, let me know. I have not decided the best approach to that. some of the generalized reports can be a few thousand lines long and take quite a while to load to ones computer. The basic lookup and all the reports seem to be functional, but the more general approach opens the user to asking for more information than they can handle. Still to be done is indexing all the ledger and Gray Book pages and deciding what to do about observations and observation support. I just completed a working version of the Waltham database application.
